Tebuconazole

Tebuconazole is a systemic fungicide belonging to the triazole family. It is mainly used to combat a broad spectrum of fungi affecting materials exposed to moisture. With its preventive and curative action, it is a key ingredient in formulations designed for the protection of wood and sensitive surfaces.

CAS 107534-96-3

Applications and uses

  • Rural hygiene: Used to prevent and control fungal infections in rural environments, particularly in storage facilities and wooden structures exposed to moisture.
  • Wood and material treatment: Used to prevent fungal attacks on wood and other moisture-sensitive surfaces

Mode of operation

Tebuconazole works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterols, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This action causes structural weakening of fungal cells, preventing their growth and reproduction. Thanks to its systemic capacity, it penetrates treated materials to provide long-lasting protection against infections.
